1. Remove the K-Cup® assembly. To remove the assembly from the brewer, open the cover by lifting the handle. Grasp the top of the K-Cup® holder with one hand while pushing the bottom of the assembly upward with the other until it releases. The K-Cup®holder is dishwasher safe.
2. Clean the funnel. The funnel can be removed from the K-Cup® holder by pulling on it until it snaps off. The funnel is dishwasher safe. To replace it just snap it back onto the K-Cup® holder.
3. Clean the exit needle. The exit needle is located on the inside bottom of the K-Cup® holder. If coffee grounds or cocoa mix get clogged in the exit needle, it can be cleaned using a paper clip or similar tool. Remove the funnel from the K-Cup® holder, insert the paper clip into the tube and move it around to loosen the clog and remove any debris. Please note, you cannot poke all the way through the needle as the opening of the needle is located on the side and not the top.
4. Install the K-Cup® assembly into the brewer. After cleaning, align the K-Cup® holder tabs with the opening placing the two front tabs on the bottom and the single tab on top, and snap it into place by pushing down on the top rim.
Keurig believes that the optimal temperature for brewing coffee, tea, and hot cocoa is 89°C (192° F). This is the internal temperature of the water in your brewer. However, once your coffee, tea, or hot cocoa is brewed, the dispensed temperature can vary greatly. In-cup temperature depends on the cup temperature and material. When brewing into an insulated container, such as a foam or paper cup, 82-85°C (180-185°F) in-cup temperature is typically attained. However, dispensing into a cold ceramic mug will cool the coffee significantly. With the Keurig® K425 and K525, you can modify the temperature of the infusion to ensure a perfect beverage, every time. Please note that stream temperature of the first brew after turn-on or after an extended idle period can be a couple degrees cooler. To maximize initial in-cup temperature at home, we recommend running a small cup-cleansing brew prior to brewing a K-Cup®, Rivo®, or K-Carafe® pack, which warms both the mug and brewer.
Keurig® home brewers use the most power during their initial start up. When heating for the first time after being off, peak usage is 1,500 watts. If the power is kept on, the brewer will keep the internal tank up to temperature using between 200-400 watts when heating. While idle and not maintaining heat, the brewer will use the average electricity of a 60- watt light bulb. All Keurig® home brewers are equipped with an Energy Savings Mode Auto Off feature should you choose not to leave the brewer on. The initial heating mode when turning the power on should take about three minutes.
Once your Keurig® home brewer has been primed, you cannot empty the water from the inside. The brewer’s internal tank cannot be drained. If you need to store your brewer, empty the removable water reservoir and store your brewer in a safe and frost-free environment. Be sure to store your brewer in its upright position to avoid water leakage from the inner tank. If you store the brewer in a cold environment, you run the risk of water freezing inside the brewer and causing damage. When you prepare to use it after storage, we recommend rinsing the removable water reservoir with fresh water and running three cleansing brews without a K-Cup® portion pack. If you plan to move your brewer to a different location, turn the brewer off, unplug it, and empty the removable water reservoir. If your brewer has been in an environment below freezing, please be sure to let it warm to room temperature for two hours before brewing.
Regular cleaning will prolong the life of the brewer and is recommended for proper operation. We recommend cleaning the external components with a soapy, damp, non-abrasive cloth. Never immerse the brewer in water or other liquids. The K-Cup® holder and funnel, drip plate and drip tray (on the Elite, Classic, Ultra, Special Edition, Ultimate, Platinum, Select, B155, K15, K50, K200, K300, K425, K525) are dishwasher safe. The removable water reservoir and water reservoir lid are NOT dishwasher safe so you’ll need to clean them by hand.
Your brewer should be descaled every three to six months. Scale is harmless, but if left unattended, it can hinder your brewer's performance. De-scaling your brewer regularly helps maintain the heating element, water reservoir, and other parts of the brewer that come in contact with water. We strongly recommend descaling your brewer every three months if your water has a high mineral content. To descale your brewer, use our descaling solution product offered in the accessory website page.

Yes. When the Keurig® 2.0 Brewing Technology™ identifies the kind of pack inserted into the brewer, the brewer will automatically set itself to brew the pack at its optimized brew setting. As with current Keurig brewers, users will be able to adjust the size to suit their individual taste preferences. The optimal size will appear in the upper righthand corner of the brewer screen. By touching the arrow keys, consumers will be able to scroll up and down the available size range appropriate for the portion pack type.

Insert the K-Cup® pack and lower the bail. On the screen, you will notice a button for “Hot Cocoa/ Other.” Activate this button by touching it. Then, press the flashing brew button. The piston pump will allow the system to infuse air into the water stream during the brew process to assist in dissolving the cocoa powder in the portion pack and also give the finished product a “froth” like texture.

If you currently have older Keurig® K-Cup® packs in your pantry, they may not work with Keurig® 2.0 brewers. K-Cup® packs with the Keurig Brewed® outer ring on the lid started being available in February 2014. We are working quickly with our retail partners to ensure that all Keurig® K-Cup® packs on-shelf work with the Keurig® 2.0 brewing system and we expect K-Cup® packs will be fully transitioned in the coming months.
All Keurig® K-Cup® packs available on Keurig.ca are fully transitioned as of August 2014 and can be brewed in the new Keurig® 2.0 brewing system.

K-CarafeTM packs are new packs developed specifically for use in the Keurig® 2.0 system. These packs contain up to 26 grams of fresh coffee and brew approximately four cups of coffee into a specially designed KeurigTM 2.0 Carafe that holds up to 30 ounces of coffee.

2. Wipe the inside of the Keurig™ 2.0 Carafe and the lid with a damp, soapy, lint-free, non-abrasive cloth.
3. Rinse thoroughly.

5. Replace the lid. Ensure that the lid securely in place prior to brewing your next carafe of coffee.
No, the Keurig™ 2.0 Carafe is not microwaveable. For consumers who wish to enjoy their carafe of coffee for a longer period of time, we suggest the Keurig™ 2.0 Thermal Carafe.
If you activated the “Water Filter Reminder” in the Settings section of your brewer, you will be reminded “Time to replace the Water Filter!” after every 1,000 ounces that flow through the system. Once a new Water Filter has been inserted, press YES to re-set the Water Filter Reminder notices. We highly recommend using a Water Filter to keep your brewer working at top performance.
Once the pack has been inserted, you will see the STRONG option in the bottom left corner of the brewer screen. Please check the empty box by touching the icon. You have now activated the STRONG functionality of the brewer.
Your Keurig® 2.0 brewer uses an entirely different internal brewing mechanism when compared to a K-Cup® brewer. This mechanism allows the system to brew different beverages according to different specifications – including strength control – which is not possible with K-Cup® brewers.
The brewing process will stop. However, you may experience a few droplets as the system comes to a stop, so please be careful. When the Carafe is put in place again, the system will start from the beginning of the brewing process and will NOT continue where it left off.
The Power Button icon is located in the bottom right corner of the brewer screen. It will appear once the brewer has been plugged in.
To view the serial number, remove the Water Reservoir. On the exposed side panel of the brewer, you will see the 14-digit, alphanumeric serial number.
Brewer dimensions are approximately 13.5 inches (height) * 10.1 inches (width) * 13.6 inches (depth).
Start by placing a 12 oz mug on the Drip Tray. Lift and lower the handle (do not insert a portion pack). Hold down the brew button until 6 oz of water dispenses. Discard the water in the mug.
We highly recommend using the Keurig Descaling Solution when descaling the system, since it will effectively descale your system without harming it.
The frequency of descaling depends on the level of mineral content of your water. This is why we recommend using filtered or bottled water. Calcium deposits or scale may build up in your brewer and hinder your brewer performance. Regularly descaling your brewer every 3 to 6 months helps prevent this from occurring. Your system will remind you when to descale with the prompt “Time to descale the brewer!” This reminder tracks the amount of liquid that has passed through the system and then prompts you to descale. If you postpone the descaling process, then the system will remind you again in 6 weeks. The reminder will only go away once the system has actually been descaled. However, if you feel that your water has a higher level of mineral content, then you should consider descaling more often.
No, we do not recommend placing the KeurigTM 2.0 Carafe in the dishwasher.
Yes, all parts that come into contact with water or pack contents are BPA free.
Similar to the existing Keurig® brewers, the Water Reservoir of the Keurig® 2.0 System is made out of a plastic called Polystyrene. This material is FDA approved BPA free.
The Drip Tray will hold up to 8 ounces of liquid. However, it is unusual for there to be any liquid in the Drip Tray.
To remove the Drip Tray, simply slide it toward you, keeping it level at all times to avoid spilling. Clean with a damp, soapy, lint-free, non-abrasive cloth.

Keurig® brewers returned without an ATR number will be returned to the sender without servicing.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) and Health Canada, Keurig Green Mountain, Inc. is voluntarily recalling MINI Plus Brewing System units with model number K10 (formerly identified as B31) produced prior to July 2014. This issue does not affect any other brewer models.
Hot liquid could escape from certain MINI Plus Brewing System units during use. Keurig has determined that this event is more likely to occur if the brewer is used to brew more than two cups in quick succession.
